first impressions - nctj journalism course at city college brighton and hove

sooo after an inspirational guest speaker today at 'school' i have decided to post my last piece of 'homework' - a feature based on my first impressions of the nctj course at city college brighton and hove...
enjoy!

There is no doubt that at first glance City College East has successfully managed to disguise itself as a hospital; with the doctors having been replaced by dinner-ladies and the patients all there in order to overcome their addiction to Adidas.

However, once you overlook these radically unfair descriptions, the college in fact has a very friendly atmosphere, reasonably well-equipped classrooms and incredibly welcoming staff (one of the most noticeable and charismatic being Patrick from LRC.

Boasted as one of the best in the country, the NCTJ Multimedia Journalism Diploma at City College Brighton sure does seem to pack a lot into its fast-track course, and for very good reason. The first week has flown by in a huge blur of vox-popping, Murdoching, subbing, teeline-ing and discovering how NOT to get into jail free (free press being the concern). Clearly this last point is something I am going to have to take note of, having perhaps already been a bit too ‘free’ with my speech.

Anyhow, already with only seventeen weeks to go I am only intrigued to see how much it is physically possible for me to learn in this amount of time. Since having lost a few brain cells at uni and being used to three hours a week (at a push) - I realise that working at a similar rate I could have competed my degree in six months.

Undoubtedly there is a hell of a lot for me to learn and yet I’m sure that if my passion for journalism is anywhere near as strong as Jan and Peters, then I’ll be the editor of Vogue in no time.

chanel vitalumiere aqua

i'm not really a foundation kind-of person, however being so fed up with mac studio tech non-staying power i decided to go and try something new.
since the estee lauder lady was busy and the fact that i'd heard about the dreaded 'pale-face' it gives you in photos i decided to give doublewear a miss and instead opted for chanel.
whilst the woman there was also slightly useless, given the fact that she couldn't be bothered to actually try out a shade on my face, she did tell me that mat lumiere wasn't for me - due to my dry/combination skin and instead suggested vitalumiere aqua.
now considering all of this, after trying it out, now only a couple of times B30 Beige - Sable does currently seem to suit me fine and i'm realllllly quite enjoying it.
not too full on, but enough and it defo lasts longer than my mac studio fix.
very tempted to buy it tomorrow, as even though it's pricey i reckon it would last a while.
any opinions welcome?!xx

want want want

this dress is fantastic. galaxy is still one of my fave things, i know i'm behind but i still never got my highstreet fix! i am completely besotted and yet can think of no possible excuse to buy it 1) i don't really wear maxi dresses even though i am tall 2) i can't really just crack this out down the pub 3) that's it really.
however, for anyone that CAN find a good (or bad) reason to buy it. DO.
ha i might as well be aqua main advertisement today (and there's 30% off on their website).
eat your heart out kane?xx

september.

CRIKEY.
i literally cannot believe i haven't blogged since april, so much has happened since then!
i finished the 'dreaded' dissertation and graduated from uni with a 2:1 and so was immensely happy. and i'm now at the final week of my second work placement over summer.
(today i interviewed chris de burgh!)
hope everyone elses summer has been fantabulous, my own blogging world has been taken up with the fastly disappearing (non-existant) sunshine and the dreaded quarter-life crisis that is fastly oncoming since leaving uni.
hopefully it won't be 5 months till my next post.
